Last year there was a link to use for knots when using wire. Can't seem to locate it. Just getting into this wire stuff and trying make sure I'm doing this right. What type of knot do you all suggest connecting the wire to the terminal swivel?

Do you fellas recommend using knots or crimps? My dad seems to think a crimp would be better due to less strain on the wire initially, but all I have heard and seen are people using knots. Is it because a crimp can become loose and eventually slip apart?

Tim,

I like the knot better. With the crimps i had it break from going back and forth like a wire clothes hanger. I have been doing the knot for sometime and never had a problem. Plus if you get a kink in the wire or something you can cut and retie in a matter of minutes and no screwing around with crimps etc. while on the water. I even use the knot on my downrigger cables and it works great. Crimps make me nervous ha ha  My 2 cents
