Although it may be done it may create a premature wear situation so it would be taking your chances I guess. The motors on many of the older riggers just weren't up to lifting the heavy stuff.

Thanks these are manuals. So it would be frames

I had cannon uni troll hp’s for years. I ran 15 lb just before I moved to electric. Cranking 15 # weights from down 100 ft is a chore. You don’t want any false releases for sure.

How big are the motors. I got these things called rigger ease you use a 18v drill for bringing up the weight. Some of these drill are pretty beefy torque wise
