Congratulations to the young lady. A deer that will be remembered for a long time.  And for the fellow with the beauty of a buck, there is no doubt someone was looking over your shoulder when the moment occurred. Cherish it.

Well the opening day was tough for me I only saw one small buck and that was at the end of legal shooting light. I planned on sleeping in on day2 and going to a property to set up some natural ground blinds in hedge rows over looking green fields for evening rifle hunting. Well that didn't happen I got a call from a neighbor telling me he saw a nice buck and a bunch of other deer cross a road into a property I can hunt and he said I should get my butt in there Sunday Morning! Well I struggled to get up and didn't get in a stand until 730 but it didn't matter I ended up shooting what he thinks is the Deer he saw the night before. This Buck is my personnel best I shot it with my TC Omega 50 cal at a 110 yards and it was a great shot it caught the heart and a lung. It was great having my son Cam with me and without him I would still be trying to get that Deer out LOL! I would like to Thank Rob and all the guys who post on this thread it is by far my favorite read everyday during the season!

Well, we weren't able to get my daughter on a buck in archery but she sealed the deal opening morning. She made a great shot at 102 yards with her shotgun.. She was so happy and I'm very proud of her! Now, I can do some hunting of my own as I've been waiting for her to score 1st!

Hell of a shot with a shotgun for anybody, much less a kid. Good for her! Convert for life, I hope.

Killed my first Mule deer last weekend in Nebraska. My son killed a Mule deer doe the same morning. Got to know a rancher 2 years ago and was able to hunt private property. 20211119_052817.thumb.jpg.dbd94ca14ac121028019f4327f9c347b.jpg

Last day buck , opening day bucks.
Last day of Bow I got into the stand early. Around 7 I heard a doe blee .... But nothing that way. 30 min later I hear a stick break over that way and look. I see a doe with a nice buck behind her at 45 yards. He stood there for a hour and 45 minutes. Just standing there staring at me the whole time and he is upwind. I think he has me skylined . Not sure where the doe ever ended up going, but he walked five yards closer but then angled going away. But stopped quartered away Looking back hard at me. Now or never... I shoot and hit him perfect in front of the guts and to the opposite shoulder. He ran 80 yards and fell over .

Opening day I go to the same tree stand hoping that doe is still in that thicket. Well 650 in the morning I had a doe bust me and stand there only 1 thing to do now. Bang! A good hour and a half goes by . I hear something behind me and all I see is tines in the golden rod . He's following a doe no time to think I pull up and shoot. He does a loop and his antlers catch the ground and he flips dead on my pathway..... Unbelievable 2 years in a row last day of Bow opening day of gun same tree same spot.

Opening day afternoon hunt with the wife at my lease. We got to the blind and all set up , heater on , gun in the bipod took my hands off the bipod looked out the window and said there's your buck out there now LMFAO. She has an antler restriction bigger than a 4. Well he's bigger than 4. He's out at 132 yards . I said whenever your ready. Bang ! The deer runs 20 and falls over in the field !!!! Perfect heart shot !

After a long slow bow season for me I was extremely happy when this guy came through the 2nd day of gun season.   He was hot on the doe and stopped at 75yrds in the only opening I had.   1 good shot is all it took he went less than 80yrds and piled up!   Now onto PA this Saturday for the opener and try to fill my buck tag there.     The video of Longspurs hunt and my hunt will be up soon on my youtube page Addicted Outdoors

November 23 am
32 degrees
NW wind 5-10 mph
Partly cloudy

Woke up to a dusting of snow on the ground. First hunt for me with any snow on the ground. Hunted the thick stuff this morning. 10-12 deer total. One small buck cruising. Lots of fawns without their mothers. Lock down seems to still be in full tilt here. Can't wait to they are back on food. I figure another week of hunting mornings and then my attention with be on afternoons with an occasional morning.
