I have Penn Squall Line Counters for my dipsey rods and they tend to "load up" before the drag slips.

I was thinking about the new Saltist as replacement, but i see now that Penn has a Squall II.

Anyone have experience with the new Squall?

The advertised max drag on the Squall II LC is 33 pounds which is unreal if correct:smile:

Hey Hillbilly,

Do you use them for dipseys?   When set a little tight to keep the line from creeping out they  really load up.

Just not happy with them.

Rod Buster, try loosing the drag and half hitch 2 loom bands or similar rubber band around the wire then go to the reel handle. I've been doing this for years and it works great. When the fish takes it the wire cuts the bands and your all good.

Total Chaos
