Spring Trip Advice - St. Catharines?

I'd love to hear your thoughts on a spring Lake O trip -- thinking early May timeframe, maybe late April.  I've previously fished the Niagara Bar out of Wilson a few times but later in May..  My understanding is that the earlier in the spring, the further West the fish are going to be, so I was thinking of maybe fishing out of St. Catharines, Port Dalhousie area?  Any thoughts, any advice out there for those who have fished that area in the spring?

If you're looking to go in April St. Cathy is where to go. Maybe even up until the first week of May. After that the US side is plenty consistent.

Thanks Rick!  Looks like there is transient dockage available at Port Dalhouise Pier Marina and St. Catharine's marina - Port Weller.  Any thoughts between those two or would it just depend on time of year?
