Mercruiser i/o hydraulic steering cable swap

Thinking of switching for cable steering to hydraulic steering. 

Have you done this? Thoughts, and install difficulties? Yes I'm mechanically able,just new at this. Possibly add autopilot later.

The boat is a 2352 trophy

Just did mine and added autopilot. Went with SeaStar helm and cylinder

Did you install your self ?    Does this set up eliminate the power steering pump on the mercruiser ?

What kind of autopilot did you go with? Thank you

I did do it myself
Seastar offers 2 choices on the cylinder I choose to use my power assist even though 90% I'm running just my kicker and my main engine is off as far as my autopilot Raymarine ev-150 connected to my raymarine axiom
