We wanted to look at different sea gulls than those at Forest Lawn and run a different program than charging the beach, so.... we ran from IBAY to the Genny at about 7:00AM. We found a nice temp break(41 to 49) and a good color line off the jettys in 25-30 fow. Almost combat fishing for a while, but then everyone there charged the beach on the East side. We put the boat into auto pilot(me) and did the great counter clockwise circle route. The cookie cutter cohoes were very active. All board bite with chartreuse being hot again..J-9 straight Rapalas, Yozuris and deep divers 130-150 back, speed 2.6-3.1. No bites on the orange stick baits or the riggers. Fish were in the 3-6 lb. range. We managed our first double of the year. We ended up 12 for 12 for a few hours of work. We slid out to 50+ fow to see if any solid break is setting up, but we only saw a gradual drop to 38 from the 49 deg. mark. Looks like the ENE blow is setting up for the next few days, so it will be a new ball game once again when it settles down. :yes:8)
