Lyman Lures – collectable – circa 1985 vintage BNIB $900 for the lot. Lures are in their original packaging and unopened. I understand these lures are circa 1985. Lyman started in 1947. Back of the package says in business over 36 years, hence 1983 or newer. Note the cardboard backing is red on white, newer versions are greenish blue on white. Also, the plastic cover is stapled on each package not glued. Lyman is stamped in blue ink on the bottom of each lure. My preference is to sell the lures as a set, 6 lures at $150.00 each, $900. The eyes are painted. It appears that a circular bit of some sort has cut the eyes out – more of a ring than a hole. You can see the depth ring of the eye hole in the pic with my finger. 4 lures in packages include: Size 4 #54, Size 4 #13, Size 4 #14, Size 5 #37 2 lures without packaging or hooks: Size 5 #37, Size 6 #37 NOTE: 3 of these lures (3 lures with colour pattern #37) are very similar to J-Plugs in that there is a 45-degree hole drilled through the body. The Lyman styled J-Plug 5 #37 has a hook set exactly the same as my traditional modern J-Plugs. No hooks are attached to the wooden body, rather a beaded chain is passed through the body and a stinger hook is attached on a nylon leader, almost exactly the same as on a modern J-Plug. The 2 lures not in packages – came as loose items, (estate sale) I do not have hooks for them. I tried installing a modern J-Plug harness on these two and the beaded chain passes through no issue. I have not opened any of the packages. Staples show rust, some water stains on cardboard, plastic is yellowing. If you are a Lyman enthusiast … then these lures may be just what you are looking for to round out your collection. Free with this set … I will include the 6” silver J-Plug. (May be gold) Dated May 1990 … purchased from Olcott Bait / Tackle, NY which is no longer in business, or perhaps under a new name, not sure. Thank you for looking at this collectable set of lures. (Believe it or not I picked these up at an estate sale) Now that you have read to the end of the description … I don’t expect to get my full asking price. On the other hand, … I expect to get more than the price tag of $7.39 on the size 4 packages … so make me a serious offer that I can’t refuse! And you can add them to your display of collectable Lyman Lures!
