Looking for advice on what to do with a old junk fiberglass boat. Is there any place that accepts old boats? Or a place that it can be recycled. It’s a 20’ Grady and chopping it down to take to landfill doesn’t sound appealing

In Tompkins, they are $90/Ton at the waste center.  They will take whole or in pieces - if you cant get them there on a legal trailer, for instance.  That is usually the biggest problem, trailer is toast from sitting so long, and not legally registered anymore.

That sounds like a viable option. Tompkins isn’t too far the trailer should make it. Just have to strip it down of fluids etc. Your talking the place off rt 13 on the south side of Ithaca right?

Look on Craigslist. There is a guy that takes old boats off your hands free of charge. I did it two years ago with my old fiberglass boat that was beyond repair after it capsized.
