Lampreys

Caught 6 cookie cutter browns in front of Sandy Pond yesterday morn. All had lampreys on them.  Worst I have ever seen.

I caught 3 the other day the first one had 3 small ones on it didn't see any on the other 2.

We got 1 brown this past Sunday and it had a lamprey stuck to it. Also got a number of pike with Lamprey marks on them. Apparently they're pretty bad again this year

We had a huge one on a king in front of Ibay last week, and another yesterday at Wilson.  They're such a nasty critter.

I always release them. In at least 4 pieces

I usually crush their skulls with my fish bonker or my pliers; never seen them swim away after that!

5 so far this morn.  Two had double lampreys.  One had a single lamprey.  Crazy.

Down by the bar we witnessed 5-7lb fish shooting 3 ‘ out of of water over and  over it was crazy ,a guy  at the dock said they do this to try to get lamprey off ? Seemed plausable we did get one fish with 12” lamprey.

Tons of lampreys on kings this year

Caught 31 fish in a day and a half out of Mexico over a dozen lampreys on them . That's more than last three years combined not as good sign for things to  come.
