Ok guys, for those of you who run ridgeback rattlers, where / how do you attach your release?

I just bought a 9lb RR to run in my spread, and am wondering what the best way is to attach my release. I currently use Offshore 8 heavy tension pinch pad releases that come on a 18" tether. I am thinking of attaching it directly to the same mounting hole that I would attach the rigger cable to.

adam,

i like the scotty release with the tension clip run about 6" - 12" above the rattler right off the rigger cable this way it don't affet the angle of the rattler when i tighten my lines down i really like to tighten down my rigger lines

Adam,

You can atttach it anywhere above the weight, just not to the weight itself. If you do it will affect the dive plane of the weight. Good Luck.

Adam,

Its not recommened to hook a release to the weight. It affects the performance. I use blacks right above the weight, but im sure the scotty's will work too. I love mine and I think you will too. Chip told me he plans to market the 13lb weights this year sometime. They are awesome weights. I fished them down to 200' last memorial day to pluck kings off the bottom.

Thanks for the insight guys!!

I think I am gonna go with Mike's advice and run a scotty release attached directly to the rigger cable above the rigger weight so as to avoid messing up the diving plane of the ridgeback.
