We are going to be on Seneca Lake mid to late July into August.  Where in general are good places to target trout/salmon.  I recently fished Lake Ontario (Henderson Bay) and learned the art of trolling with downriggers, dreamweaver divers and planer boards using sticks and spoons.  I have read about Gambler rigs etc and willing to try those as well.  Jigging for trout seem to be popular but I have never tried it.  I know the Lake well in terms of key land marks (i.e., points, towns, parks, etc.  We will be on the water staying in the Hector area.

Thank you in advance for any pointers.

If you're staying on the water, run north a few miles towards glenora/peach orchard.

Plenty of silver action that time of year.... if you want a more mixed bag move further north. Sampson and north is a great area for lakers as well....
