Congrats on the Laker.  What are the length and girth of that fish?  Our 34.06 was 43 3/8" x 26.5".  Looks very similar!

Congrats! Awsome fish! I really have a great respect for a giant laker. I started my fishing career in Henderson Harbor when lakers were the only trout to be caught around there 45 yrs ago. I'm sure a fish like that had to make it through a lot of hard times.

Thank you! Everything seems to come full circle at times. I've been fishing the Sandy Creek Hamlin NY  area since I was 3yrs old. From fishing with my father aboard his boat and logging many of hours on my grandfather's  charter boat "Catchalot" Brushcut Charters. I think about the area near the pump house where we caught and released many of small lake trout in the past that I probably crossed paths with that giant lake trout many years ago. Thankful everyday to live near and fish the great fishery on the south shore of Lake Ontario.

Yes he was. Special guy, they don’t make many guys like him anymore.
They should.
I remember him, Carl Ayer’s, Don Whitenight, Charlie Chic and more. Thankfully a few of those guys are still around. They made Sandy Creek what it is today.
