Fly to flasher leader length

Struggling with the flasher fly bite. Most of my leaders are short (21 inch) for Mexico bay in September. What length are you having success with on these summer fish.

18 to 36" on 6 to 12" attractors

23 to 24 inches in the summer gets it done

Any fly leader tied to an 8” spin doctor or e chip on my boat is 22.5”.

Twenty two and a half inches. Dont ask me why, just always worked for me.

I run 21" you made need to slow your speed down to get the same action as a longer length

Thanks for the replies.  I tend to fish fast, 2.7 to 3mph with spoons so I will try the longer leads when I’m fishing fast or slow down when fishing flashers.

I was always told 3 times the length of flasher. So that’s what I always do
