I’ve seen more lampreys on fish this year than ever before. I would say it’s greater than 50 percent of the fish I catch. What is everyone else seeing?

1 of 4 fish netted Weds outta Hughes had a lamprey. Back in early May almost half our fish (12-15 fish) off Niagara Bar - had lampreys on them. That was an awful high percentage I thought?

The ones that come on my boat go back in 2 pieces.

Landed 4 steelies ( all small , 12-16 inches) , 4 shaker kings and lost two bigger , landed one decent. All clean , no lampreys or scars

Lampreys are on many fish that i catch. I have not ever seen it this bad. I have had at least 10 times where there is 2 on the fish. We think the birds are bad, think again. They (DEC) need to figure out that problem and rectify it.

I had a lamprey stuck to my hull yesterday.  I helped it come aboard and sent it back in pieces.

10 kings today..... 2 matures, and 8 shakers or "super" shakers........

one mature had a lamprey attached, and the other had a bloody scar as the lamprey detached boatside.

none of the little guys had lampreys or scars. Been fishing Sandy to Braddocks for 30 years, and this is the worst lamprey infestation I've seen.......... We also got 1 brown which was clean.

Well , they use to  treat Sandy . The last time I saw the trucks upstream was about 12 years ago I think . Maybe longer .

None of the fish I boated has lamprey marks

I just googled it. Looks like we are stuck with the adults  for the next couple years.  They spend their first 3-10 in the streams as juveniles.

Got four lampreys yesterday. WTF is going on.

I heard (don't know how true it is) that Canada did not due lamprey treatments a couple years ago due to covid.
