Offshore???

Ok…So what does “Offshore” actually mean.  Is it a depth or distance?  Is it beyond “5 nautical miles” as in NOAA forecasts?  I’ve heard this term for years and never really knew exactly what it meant.

In my opinion, it's when I'm not fishing that inside 80-200' water. When you're fishing 400-600'. The distance to get there varies by port.
