Guys, i was thinking about getting a autopilot for my 19 ft alum. bow rider so i can fish alone when i have to. my question is do they work well and is it worth the money. thank you guys!! is anyone selling one?

If you buy an autopilot, look into the Simrad products. They are easy to install and a quality product. You will wonder how you ever fished without one once you use it.

First question is what kind of steering do you have -- cable or hydro? If Hydro you have many options if cable you have only one that I know of the Raymarine sportpilot.

I do have a 2009 sportpilot on my boat and it is great. Easy to install, easy to use, I will be getting the wireless remote for it soon and I will not have to touch the steering wheel at all from lines in to lines out.

Ask questions and shop around, but in your case -- if you want to fish alone or with guys that are worthless when it comes to the helm -- you love it!!!

It appears that neither of these APs have a hand held throttle control. What do you guys do for remote throttle?

Edd you could add the controllking for your throttle control. here is the web site, I put on my boat this year, and WOW. I have remote throttle controls, but this kicks those right in the arse. You can increase your speed by tenths of mph. http://www.controllking.com/

Shoot me a pm if you want more info.
