I thought I stripped the carpet out of my 2001 Alumcraft trophy fish and Ski. I will also replace the floor if needed and cover it with vinyl. What is the floor connected to is it wood or aluminum frame? I would like a little heads up on it before I get into it. Thanks

Tetrop,

I replaced the floor, flotation,  and transom in a 1988 17' Grumann CC, (third boat that I replaced the floor)

I have lots of pics and can answer questions etc if you like.

The floor is either screwed or riveted to aluminum bracing.

I am sorry I meant the chemical in the wood reacting to the aluminum.

Yes ,osmoses I believe it's called. Metal will start to pit. And usually it's a lot heavier.

I coated my MG plywood with Gluvit.  From Jamestown distributers.  Also the 3M 5200 adhesive is one of the strongest available for other repairs.
I ordered new steering cable and pumps from Wholesale marine.
The new foam was also from the same company.
PS  the 2-gal kit was not enough for the entire job
