Keeping Scotty stop beads in place?

Occasionally the stop beads on my Scotty riggers slide on the wire. Does anyone have any techniques that have worked to anchor them in place. I have thought of glue, RTV, etc. but haven't tried them yet. I've seen someone pinching on small splitshot on either side ........ what works?

LZ, have you tried putting 2 next to each other (inline) on the cable?

2 in a row works great, if that doesnt work, run 3 in a row. The coated cable sometimes slides a bit but 3 takes care of that problem, and it protects my probe from coming out of the water.
