Snake oil salesmen . Been putting boats / engines away for over 50 years and have not  fogged and or oiled the cylinders . Never had a issue , engine is only sitting for 6 months and oil resin is on the cylinder walls from normal use .Gas stabilizer takes care of the EFI system.

That's a little extreme!   I also have been using Stabil, fogging and running my boats dry for 50 years, never had a problem.  Now when you spend 15 to 20 K for a new 4 stroke EFI outboard, I'll go with the manufacturer's recommendation

correct... Those cyls  will never rust, they are always"oiled", and first thing you do when you start the engine in spring is add more oil with the gas.. I have fogged a few times over the years, but when I don't I lose no sleep over it...
