Oak Orchard monthly derbies

Does anyone know if Oak Orchard is going to run the 3 fish monthly derbies like last July and August?

The interest in the monthly tournaments was not what we had expected for the amount of boats that fish the Oak in July and August. I think we had 14, 17, and 15 teams in July and August and the September tournament had to be cancelled because of only three entries.

That said, Gene Christopher of 4 C's Marina is the new ProAm Director for Oak Orchard. The Oak's ProAm committee will be discussing those tournaments with Gene in the near future and we will make an announcement at or shortly after the Oak Orchard ProAm.

Thank's for the info Capt. Paul. Most were on very short notice last year, but possibly with some notice beforehand more boats would get in. During the August Saturday Tourney last year Boats that had entered all the contests were able to fish the LOC Fall ,Orleans Rotary Derby, and the 1 day Saturday Tourney All on the same day. I haven't researched how everything falls together this year yet, but they sure are a lot of fun to be in if you are going to be out there fishing anyways.- Mick
