This is the first year I am running the small flashers and dodgers for cohos. What length should I run between the flasher and the small cheddar flies? The small protroll I bought recommends 18-20 inches but I think this is too long.

Thank you,

pretty good rule of thumb is 1.5 times the length of "dodger" for line length for designed action then tune from there .rotators can handle longer leads due to action theres a whole lot of personal preferences on subject . Ray K.

You might want to put hooks on that flasher. Kings have been caught on NK M80's and they are bigger than that flasher.

Put two in the water with the leaders a little shorter and a little longer than protroll recommends. Get up to trolling speed and observe the action at boatside. Then let them both out and see which one is taking more hits. This will tell you what you want to run. Other than that I can't help you much because I don't run the small ones. On small dodgers I run about a 16 in leader but have taken fish with them up to 21 inches.
