It’s been a muddy mess all winter since 70 mph wind and 30’ wave event before Christmas. I hope it clears by spring.

No ice cover yet wonder if there will be salmon to the east a lot earlier this year

That's very typical for this time of year

I was thinking similarly, but it’s unusual for ice to be completely absent

So someone school me on this.  If it's muddier/greener than normal, how does that impact the western end of Lake O come April/May?

If it is super muddy, fish can’t see your bait.  You may have to slide East to find good water color.

I was thinking no ice the water will warm fast and not keep them huddled west as long could be a good year for a spring bite out of rochester or sodus

She is low too

And they are letting too much water out.  With no snow pack, there isn't going to be much snow pack to raise the lake.  Plan on a low year unless we get some serious rain!

Weve been able to fish lake erie pretty much all winter when the wind allows. Its definitely been a very windy winter with not much freezing temperature.

On presidents day we fished about 30 miles west of cleveland and caught plenty of walleye and water temp was 37 degrees. That water color is pretty normal for this time of year. Green color isnt bad it's the mud color that effects fishing.
