See the LOU calendar for more information pertaining to this event.  ELOSTA will be having its annual fishing flea market and seminars on March 11th from 9AM to 1PM at the Brewerton Fire Hall (just off of Route 81).  Come get some great deals or call for a table and unload gear that you no longer use.  Bob Mallory, who runs his charter boat "Persistence" and successfully fishes several tournaments each year will be presenting Brown Trout Fishing techniques and applications.  We are in the process of securing a second seminar speaker for the event.  There will be a $2 entry fee used to send kids to DEC Camp for anyone 16 or older. 

There is a flyer on the LOU events calendar that has all of the information neatly organized.

We are lucky enough to also have Capt. Shaun Kennedy from Irish Knots Sportfishing.  He will talk about Walleye fishing.

Capt Bob will present at 11AM and Capt Shaun will present at Noon.  

These are two top notch highly respected captains.  Everyone who attends their seminars should feel confident in bringing more fish to the net.

 

Bill informed me that there are over thirty tables that will be loaded with goodies.

Thanks for the introduction - in the coming weeks I'll be putting together some slides to walk through during the seminar - we love our brown trout fishing and can't wait for this!  Rumor has it there might be a special guest who may present a couple of slides on the topic as well.   See you there!

We now have a minimum of thirty tables that will be loaded with stuff being sold including some charter captains who have recently gotten out of the business or looking to unload years of accumulation.  The seminar will occur around 11AM with Bob Mallory on brown trout fishing.  This is looking to be one of the "good ones" that people will be comparing others to in the future.

There are so many thank you's to give to people for making this event happen and to be as successful as it was. Many people behind the scenes like ELOSTA's Bill Pingel and others, and some out front like Bob who spoke about brown trout fishing to a very eager crowd and then Brian Hammond who stepped up at the last minute to give a presentation on walleye fishing when Shaun's truck broke down on the way to the show.

Great presentation on BT fishing! A lot of good information to help a newbie like myself that has a smaller boat(17’). I was curious how much you would change tackle and technique for working some of the finger lakes? Thanks

Early spring on the finger lakes - set up exactly like you would on lake ontario if looking for rainbows, lakers, and browns - the only difference is on the finger lakes you don't need to be right up on shore - 100 yards out from shore you might be in 50 feet of water - don't worry too much about the amount of water you are over - flatlines, short cores with small spoon and stickbaikts will take fish in the spring on the fingers as well.
