Ok I get what you're saying but don't you need a 120 volt power supply? I don't have power at my dockage...  I'm looking for a way to charge my lithium battery's from the 18 volt altinator output without causing any problems.....

Mmm yea that’s a tough one.  With the amp draw and the need to recharge those quickly you won’t have enough mmmmf to get the recharged with motoring around with your big motor.  Someone on here might have an alternative solution for you.

Frogger, I can get a small light weight generator to top it off occasionally... Won't useing the 18 Amp altinator prolong battery life when used ipilot while trolling?

I think you’ll get some charge, I’m just not sure if you’ll break even if your at a 3-4 setting while trolling.  I’m sure guys that are using there electrics like your going to do can chime in on how much charge they see while trolling. You’ll also have to be careful wiring as you don’t want your crank battery also used for your trolling motor battery. You would want to keep the system separate for prolonged life.

Thanks again Frogger!🙂 I don't plan on doing anything till I find someone that can with confidence put a system together for me that works.

I hope others chime in with a system that works well for them under the same circumstances.

I bought a Li time 12v 100 ah Lithium this spring with the battery case on special for $349.00 for both. 5 yr warranty. Dekotas were about double the price just for the battery. Dekotas had an 11 yr warranty but pro rated after 7. All the research I did indicates with the technology out there today they are all basically the same.. I could have spent another 100 bucks on the battery and got the battery warmer and bluetooth features but didn't figure I needed them. The size of the battery is equal to a 24 series lead acid and much lighter. I'm running a 50 lb thrust minn kota V2 power drive moving a 16 1/2 ft Aluminum loaded with riggers and all the gear to fish either trout or bass and I'm very happy so far. I trolled on a windy day with the bow mounted minn kota for 5 hrs straight, motor running about 80 to 90% and then bass fished for an hour before the battery died. When it died it died though. LOL. No warning it went from full power to dead in a few seconds. I charge it with a a noco genius10amp charger and so far I couldn't be happier. :yes:

Yep, when lithiums go they go from 13v to zero just like that.  Also when measuring the voltage, you can’t use the voltmeter on the dash, you have to use a %meter that tells you how much is left.  In case you don’t have one.

The Bluetooth feature is nice on the lithium batteries. You can see how each cell is performing. Plus overall voltage drop and charging voltage too. I have one without BT and the other with. Next one I get I will get the BT again as long as it’s an option on what ever battery I get. The one with out BT does have a on/off button for 2 usb ports on the side. That’s also handy. These are the 2 I bought. If you are going to use them in line for 24 volt applications it’s best to buy 2 of the same make.
