Good day for us today out of Barcelona too. Weeded through probably 30 or so for a 2 man limit over 21 inches. Everything worked but 800 Bare Naked Reef Runner on 6 color and Blue Silver Prism Bomber on 200 copper were best on the bigs.
Our trip was a whopping success. Went out of Barcelona. 3 man limit in 70 to 100 fow. Everything we put in water took fish. Stick baits, harnesses, spoons. 200 foot coppers did well and cheated spoons over the harnesses on the riggers. You guys are lucky to have that fishery at your fingertips. Amazing fishery.
Really good bite for us. Harbor looked perfect but we did our damage in the 35 degree green water in 20 to 30 fow East of the harbor. Water reminded me of the green water you see in glacier fed rivers. Nor much clarity. 3.5" blue/silver Smithwicks and flat silver Sutton 44s with a strip of oil slick tape were hot.
Got out Sunday afternoon. Same spot, same program in 34 to 36 fow. First hour and half just shorts, then the keepers started biting. 2 person limit in about an hour, probably weeded through 30 total. We switched to worm harnesses to see if they would work and never had a bite in an hour and a half in the same spot.
Quick trip before it go too rough Saturday ended up in 7 keepers. Went Sunday at noon, easy limit in an hour and half. Same program and location as the last month. My wife let me stand by her fish for a pic.
Got out for a change of scenery for a couple hours tonight. Haven't fished it much the last couple because of all the walleye trolling pressure. We got a couple nice quality fish. Sad to see the screen so empty on the fish finder but there has been a lot of adult eyes killed the last few years. I'm no expert but just my two cents.
Troll bite has been really consistent the last two weekends. Same spot as my previous reports 36 fow give or take. Just running those Reef Runners and waiting for the bite to turn on. Seems like a hot bite, then a lull for an hour.or so, then they turn on again. Catching nice size limits, all 19 to 22 inchers.
Got out around 430, rough as heck so we did one long downwind pass. 30 to 33 fow in front of Chapmans. 7 keepers on Bare Naked Reef Runner, which were the only plugs we ran. 20# braid, 50 feet to 1 or 2 Oz weights, 50 feet to the plug, 2.2 mph.
